DevOps consulting services for startups

DevOps consulting services set up how your team builds, tests, ships and runs software: CI/CD, infrastructure as code, monitoring and on-call. We make every release routine and reversible, on a first pipeline or an old one.

The drawing shows commits on a branch and, under them, the pipeline each merge runs, with a canary, a health check and a rollback to the last good release.

Our DevOps consulting is hands-on. We set up the pipeline, the infrastructure code and the alerts with your developers, then hand it over so they can run it. It sits alongside our backend development services for startups, and it is sized for small teams: enough automation to ship safely every day, without a platform team to maintain it.

01SOUND FAMILIAR?

Signs your team needs DevOps help

Shipping problems rarely start with the code. They start with how it gets built, released and watched.

  • SYMPTOM 01

Only one person knows how to deploy

Usually means: The release process lives in someone's head, and every holiday is a risk.

  • SYMPTOM 02

Releases happen on Friday nights with everyone watching

Usually means: There is no automated testing or quick rollback, so each deploy feels like a gamble.

  • SYMPTOM 03

We find out about outages from customers

Usually means: Monitoring and alerts are missing, or they fire so often that nobody looks.

  • SYMPTOM 04

Our staging environment never matches production

Usually means: The infrastructure was set up by hand, so the environments drift apart.

  • SYMPTOM 05

The cloud bill keeps growing and nobody knows why

Usually means: Resources are created by hand and never tagged, owned or cleaned up.

  • SYMPTOM 06

An enterprise customer is asking about our processes

Usually means: You need access control, change history and backups you can show, not just describe.

02WHAT WE DO

What our DevOps consulting services include

We build each piece with your team, in your repositories and cloud accounts, so nothing depends on us afterwards.

  • CI/CD pipelines with a one-step rollback

We build a pipeline that tests every change, builds it once and deploys it the same way every time, with a rollback anyone on the team can run. It runs in the tools you already use, such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.

  • Infrastructure as code

We describe your servers, databases, networks and permissions in code, with Terraform or your cloud's own tooling, so every environment can be rebuilt from the repository. Changes to infrastructure go through review like any other code.

  • Monitoring, alerts and on-call

We set up logs, metrics and alerts tied to what customers feel, such as failed checkouts or slow pages, rather than every spike on a graph. Then we write the on-call rota and the runbooks, sized for a small team.

  • Cloud DevOps consulting on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

We work in the cloud you already run, clean up hand-made resources and set budgets and tags so every cost has an owner. For bigger questions about which cloud services to use and how they fit together, our cloud strategy consulting covers architecture and migration.

  • DevOps implementation services for security and compliance

We add the controls auditors and enterprise customers ask about: least-privilege access, secrets management, dependency scanning, tested backups and a change history you can show. Builds that pull in packages need checks too, so we pin and verify what goes into each release. To see why, read npm supply chain attacks in 2026: what startup teams should change.

  • Upgrades and end-of-life planning

We list the runtimes, databases and services your stack depends on and plan upgrades before support ends. Our software end-of-life tracker keeps the key dates for common startup stacks in one place.

03IN BRIEF

How much DevOps a small startup team needs

A small startup team needs less DevOps than most tooling suggests. The core is one reliable pipeline, infrastructure described in code, alerts on what customers feel, tested backups and a one-step rollback. That set protects you from the failures founders dread most: a bad deploy nobody can undo, a lost database or an outage nobody noticed. What you can usually skip at first is Kubernetes, multi-region setups, a service mesh and a dedicated platform team. They solve problems of scale and team size you do not have yet, and they take time to run. If a DevOps consulting company proposes them before it has seen your traffic, ask why. We start with managed services and simple tools, then add complexity only when a real limit appears. The aim is a setup your own developers understand and can change, not one that needs a specialist on call.

Why every deploy needs a rollback path

Every deploy needs a rollback path because some changes will fail in production, however good the tests are. The cost of a failure depends on how fast you can undo it. A rollback path means the previous version can go back live in one step, run by anyone on the team, without a meeting. It takes three habits. Build once and promote the same artifact through each environment. Keep database changes backward compatible for one release, and put risky features behind switches you can turn off. With that in place, teams can ship small changes often, which makes each one less risky. Without it, a bad release turns into an outage, and for that moment we offer software project rescue and crisis response as well as the DevOps work that prevents it.

04STEP BY STEP

How a DevOps engagement works

  1. 01

    Audit

We review how you build, deploy and run the software today: pipelines, cloud accounts, alerts, access and costs. You get a ranked list of risks and a plan in the order we would fix them.

  2. 02

    Build

We set up the pipeline, infrastructure code, monitoring and runbooks with your developers, one piece at a time, so the team learns the setup as it is built.

  3. 03

    Ship

We run a few releases and a practice incident together, then hand over the documentation and access. Your team owns it from there.

06WHO IT IS FOR

Who DevOps consulting is for

You do not need a large team to need DevOps. You need software that customers rely on.

  • Startups shipping by hand

You deploy from a laptop, or from a script only one person understands, and you want that to stop.

  • Growing teams with a fragile setup

You have customers and a few developers, and outages or slow releases now cost real money.

  • Teams facing a security review

An investor, auditor or enterprise customer wants to see how you build, deploy and protect your systems.

If rolling back a release takes a meeting, the pipeline is not finished yet.

10FAQ

DevOps consulting questions

What do DevOps consulting services include?

DevOps consulting services cover how software gets built, tested, released and run. Ours include CI/CD pipelines with a one-step rollback, infrastructure as code, monitoring and alerts, on-call and runbooks, access and secrets management, cost controls and upgrade planning. We set it up with your developers and hand it over, so your team can run it.

What are the benefits of hiring a DevOps consultant?

A DevOps consultant gives you a working setup sooner than learning it from scratch. You also avoid the usual mistakes: environments built by hand, alerts nobody reads and deploys that cannot be undone. For a startup it also means not hiring a full-time specialist before you need one, so your developers can get back to the product.

Do you work on AWS, Azure and Google Cloud?

Yes. We work on AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, and with the managed services built on them. We prefer to improve the cloud you already run rather than move you, unless there is a clear cost or capability reason. Moving between clouds is a separate decision, and we plan it with you when it makes sense.

Can you set up CI/CD for a small team?

Yes. We set up one pipeline that tests every change, builds it once and deploys it the same way each time, with a rollback in one step. It runs in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or whatever you already use, and it stays simple enough for any developer on the team to change.

Will our team be able to run everything after you leave?

Yes, that is the point of the handover. We build the setup with your developers, write runbooks for routine and emergency tasks, and run a few releases and a practice incident together before we step back. Everything lives in your repositories and accounts, described in code, so nothing depends on us.

Do you offer ongoing DevOps support?

Yes. After the setup, we can stay on for a few days a month to handle upgrades, patching, cost and security reviews, and to help during busy releases or incidents. The scope is agreed in advance and reviewed regularly. The aim is for your team to need less of it over time.

How is DevOps consulting different from cloud consulting?

DevOps consulting is about how you ship and run software: pipelines, automation, monitoring and on-call. Cloud consulting is about which cloud services you use and how they fit together: architecture, migration and cost. The two overlap on infrastructure, and a startup often needs both at once, which we can cover in one engagement.
