FOR TECHNICAL FOUNDERS

Product help for technical founders

Product help for technical founders is senior product management for people who can already build. We help you decide what to build next, for which buyer, at what price, and how you will know it worked.

The drawing shows a scored backlog and, under it, each idea's reach, impact, confidence and effort, with evidence-backed ideas on top and the rewrite at the bottom.

You can ship a feature over a weekend. The expensive part is shipping the wrong one, or the right one to the wrong buyer. Roger Grekos leads our product work and runs discovery, positioning, pricing and UX reviews with you. Thanos Gkanas checks that each product call fits the system you have built. You keep the keyboard; we bring the evidence.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Where technical founders get stuck

None of these is an engineering problem, which is why more engineering rarely fixes them.

  • SYMPTOM 01

We ship every week and growth is flat

Usually means: Output is up, but nobody owns the question of which problem matters most to buyers.

  • SYMPTOM 02

We have users, but almost nobody upgrades

Usually means: Pricing and packaging were set once, early, and never tested against what buyers value.

  • SYMPTOM 03

Every planning session ends with a longer backlog

Usually means: There is no strategy that says what you will not build, so every request looks urgent.

  • SYMPTOM 04

Our onboarding makes perfect sense to us

Usually means: The product was designed by the people who built it, and nobody has watched a new user try it.

  • SYMPTOM 05

I spend my week on product calls instead of code

Usually means: You need a product lead, and it is too early or too risky to hire one full-time.

Product management for technical founders: where to start

Pick the gap that hurts most. Each service stands alone, and they combine when the gaps are connected.

Product

This is the core of our product management agency work for builders. Discovery phase services for product development find the real problem. A strategy tells you what to skip, and we test your monetization strategy with real buyers.

When a product decision changes the architecture, or a new product line needs both lanes from day one, Roger and Thanos work from one plan.

IN BRIEF

What product strategy for technical founders looks like

Product strategy for technical founders is a short, written set of choices. It names the customer you serve first, the problem you solve for them, how you win against the alternatives they use today and what you will not build. It fits on two pages and it changes when the evidence does.

For builders, the value is in the no. A strategy turns a backlog of good ideas into a sequence, so the team stops switching between requests and starts finishing things. We build it with you from evidence rather than opinion: user interviews, usage data, lost deals and pricing tests. If you hire product strategy consultants for this, judge the work by the decisions it leaves you, not the slides. Ours ends with the choices written down, the evidence behind each one and a date to review them, so the strategy keeps working after we step back.

What a product lead takes off your plate

A product lead decides what the team builds next and makes sure it was worth building. In a technical founder's company, four jobs otherwise land on the founder. The lead talks to users and buyers every week and keeps one ranked roadmap with a reason for each item. They write problem statements engineers can estimate and review each release against the goal it was meant to move.

The lead also owns pricing and packaging tests, the onboarding flow and the questions nobody else has time for, such as why trials stall or which segment churns. You can test the role before committing to it: a fractional lead shows what the job really is and leaves the documents a permanent hire needs. When you are ready to hire SaaS product managers, we can write the role and hand over the research, roadmap and pricing notes.

HOW WE WORK WITH YOU

Peer to peer, not top-down

Product help for technical founders works best between peers. You do not need anyone to explain sprints or APIs. You need someone who pushes back on the roadmap with evidence, sits in on customer calls and writes decisions down so your engineers stop guessing.

We work as a senior product partner at your level, inside your tools, with Thanos on hand when a product call has a cost in the codebase. Every engagement follows the same three steps.

  1. 01

    Audit

We read your analytics, support tickets and sales notes, interview users and buyers, and run a website UX audit of your signup and onboarding. You get a short list of problems ranked by evidence.

  2. 02

    Build

We turn the findings into one product bet and a plan your engineers can work from. It covers problem statements, success measures, pricing changes to test and what you will not build this quarter.

  3. 03

    Ship

We help you release, measure what changed and choose the next bet. Once the rhythm works, we help you hire a product manager or hand the seat to one.

FAQ

Questions about product help for technical founders

I can build the product. Why would I need product help?

Because building is rarely the bottleneck for a technical founder; choosing is. Product help means deciding which problem to solve next, for which buyer, at what price, using evidence from interviews and usage data. It saves you from shipping well-made features nobody pays for, and it frees your week for the engineering only you can do.

How do you help technical founders with positioning and pricing?

We start with buyers, not features. We interview recent customers and lost deals, map the alternatives they compare you with, and write a positioning statement your site and sales calls can use. For pricing, we find the value metric buyers accept, test packages with real prospects and set a review date, so pricing stops being a one-time guess.

Can you run customer interviews for us?

Yes. We write the interview guide with you and recruit from your users, trial sign-ups and lost deals. We run the conversations and share notes and recordings where everyone has agreed to them. You get a short synthesis of patterns, quotes and decisions. Join a few calls if you can; hearing users first-hand changes how engineers build.

Do you work with developer tools and API products?

Yes. Developer products follow the same product rules with different evidence. That means documentation paths, time to a first successful API call, error messages, usage-based pricing and the gap between a trial and team adoption. We interview developers at their level, read the docs as a new user would and test onboarding against what your best users did first.

How much of my time does a product engagement need?

Less than you might fear, but not zero. Plan on a standing working session, usually weekly, for decisions, quick answers in your chat between sessions, and some customer calls during discovery if you choose to join them. Your knowledge of the product and the customers is an input nobody can replace, so we protect the time we use.

Can you help me hire my first product manager?

Yes. We help you define what the role should own, write the job description and scorecard, take part in interviews and assess a work sample. If the seat stays empty for a while, a fractional product manager can hold it and leave the research, roadmap and pricing notes your new hire will start from.
